About

DNS AXE believes that the foundation may now exist for the Internet infrastructure industry’s voluntary participation to address the harmful provision of pharmaceuticals via the Domain Name System. A coordinated approach – one with more effective categorization and reporting mechanisms to tackle the issue of online harms – is an urgent need.

A comprehensive and unified approach must emphasize the appropriate role of the DNS industry in the establishment of robust reporting criteria and evidence collection to maximize participation and effectiveness in combatting harmful online practices.

To that end, DNS AXE (a 501c3 Not-For-Profit) is coordinating a pilot project based on a clearinghouse concept – that serves ingest data, vets and manages Trusted Reporters, Validators, and Notifiers – to disrupt and alleviate risks associated with the online sale and purchase of illicit pharmaceutical products.

Vision

Action at the domain name level may be deemed appropriate where there exists a well evidenced, and reasonable likelihood of immediate and credible harm to human life, that reasonably requires immediate intervention to stop and/or disrupt.
